An American composer born October 3, 1936 in New York.
A pianist and a percussionist, with a degree in philosophy, Steve Reich studied composition with the jazz player Hall Overton as well as at the Juilliard School. Il obtained a Master of Arts degree in music at Mills College after following the classes of Luciano Berio and Darius Milhaud while steeping himself in jazz. In 1966 he founded his own ensemble, Steve Reich and Musicians, and this gave him a suitable framework for his experimental form of composition.

Piotr Moss studied at the Higher Music School of Warsaw (1968-1972), notably with Grazyna Bacewicz and Piotr Perkowski. He completed his training with Krzysztof Penderecki and later in Paris with Nadia Boulanger.
At first a composer of illustrative music for Polish theatre and radio, he received, after settling in France, many commissions for ‘pure’ music, particularly state commissions (Incontri for orchestra, 1981; Récit II for violin and orchestra, 2005) and from Radio France (Défets, oratorio, 1987; Fresques for orchestra, 1998).
Jean-Jacques DI TUCCI
A French composer born February 25, 1958 in Montpellier.
After studying music at the Montpellier Conservatory, Jean-Jacques Di Tucci became a piano teacher and a pianist, notably with the ensemble Diagonales. Later (1992-1995) he completed his training at the Lyons Conservatory in the composition classes of Gilbert Amy and those of musical analysis with Robert Pascal.

At first an autodidact, Lionel Marchetti subsequently explored the musique concrète repertory with Xavier Garcia, a composer and musician with Arfi (Imaginary Folklore Research Association).
He composes in the studios of the GRM (Groupe de Recherches Musicales), the GMVL (Groupe Musiques Vivantes de Lyon), La Muse en Circuit, Cesaré in Rheims, as well as in his own studio. With the artiste Olivier Capparos, he prepares creative radiophonic workshops for France Culture. The two composers have collaborated in this way notably on Kitty Hawk, le sable et le vent, first performed at the Grand Théâtre in Rheims in 2008, and Le puits et la dune, first performed on France Culture in 2014.

He completed his apprenticeship in composition and theory with Nadia Boulanger in Paris (1959-1962) and attended the concerts of the Domaine Musical, enjoying the contemporary repertory and electronic music in particular. Back in the USA he continued his studies at the University of Stanford and became a Doctor of Musical Arts (1966).

A laureate of many prizes, including the Pulitzer Prize for Echoes of Time and the River (1967), and Unesco’s International Composers’ Rostrum, hailed all over the world, his music is characterised by poetic sensitivity, evocative power and great concision.
