The European Instrumental Laboratory: issues and crossovers

Théâtre Dunois

Moderator: David Jisse

The European Instrumental Laboratory (LIEU), founded in 2008, brings together partners from eight countries focussed on one and the same objective: to promote and reflect together on the future of contemporary creation.
An enquiry was undertaken concerning various players involved in the LIEU: composers, festival directors, documentation centres, publishers and members of ensembles dedicated to creation, in order to highlight the issues with which they are confronted.
This round table will feature and present to the public the main questions and issues brought to light by this study. It will facilitate the comparison and examination of the way in which the structures, the ensembles and the composers here present function and the difficulties they encounter.
The political changes occurring throughout Europe will also lie at the heart of this encounter, in the course of which speakers from six countries will talk about their respective situations.
