Newport Contemporary Music Festival - Composition Competition

The Newport Contemporary Music Festival is proud to present it’s first annual Composition Competition. Three finalists will be invited to take part in the inaugural weekend of the festival, with rehearsals leading up to the weekend, a final concert before an illustrious jury, and an award ceremony on Sunday afternoon to conclude the weekend.

All composers must be 35 years of age or under as of March 1, 2017.
The competition is open to all nationalities.
Composers are allowed only one (1) composition per registration period.
Scores and supporting documents should be post marked no later than March 1, 2017.

Submitted compositions should be scored for: Solo Flute, with a supporting ensemble comprised of 1 Violin, 1 Cello, 1 Clarinet and 1 Harp.
Submitted compositions should be no longer than ten (10) minutes in duration.
