Public press conference with the participation of the French Ministry of Culture and Communication, the Sacem, the Cdmc, Ircam and in the presence of the Gateway's partners.

A project in operation since 2006, the Gateway to Contemporary Music now groups the resources of some thirty French organisations dealing with the musical creation after 1945, including nearly 180, 000 references. It has provided for the digitalisation of many resources in order to guarantee their preservation and transmission.
It is a unified search engine for the resources made available by the Gateway's partners, in order to facilitate access and thereby give them greater visibility.
The Gateway can locate a document (book, score, disc, film), enable online listening of sound extracts, follow current concert activity and also find a contact. Practical pedagogical tools facilitate navigation : a lexicon, maps, a chronological chart.
It is intended for all those involved in music : pupils and students, professionals and researchers, journalists, teachers, composers, performers, musicologists, programmers, from both the world of music and other disciplines : choreographers, stage and film directors, etc. , amateurs and contemporary music concertgoers.
It also has the broader aim of encouraging the knowledge of and, as may be the case, the discovery of this musical domain by the general public.
