A German composer, clarinettist and conductor born June 19, 1973.
A clarinetist, with a diploma from the Juilliard School of Music in New York, Jörg Widmann performs the main works in the repertory and has premiered several concertos that have been dedicated to him (Musik für Klarinette und Orchester by Wolfgang Rihm; Rechant by Heinz Holliger), with leading orchestras (Gewandhausorchester Leipzig, Orchestre National de France, Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal, etc.) and conductors (Daniel Barenboim, Kent Nagano, Sylvain Cambreling, etc.).
Widmann studied composition notably with Hans Werner Henze in Munich as well as with Heiner Goebbels and Wolfgang Rihm in Karlsruhe.

After a master’s degree in composition from the University of Bogota in 1998, Luis Fernando Rizo-Salom studied at the Paris Conservatory, notably in the class of Emmanuel Nunes. He followed the composition and music computing course at Ircam before taking up residence in the Casa de Velázquez (2005-2007).
He has received many commissions, notably from the French State, the Orchestre National de l’Île-de-France, the Sacem, Radio France, and his music is played by ensembles such as 2e2m, l’Itinéraire, the Ensemble Modern and Remix.

Hector Parra studied at the Barcelona Conservatory, Ircam in Paris, as well as at the Haute École de Musique in Geneva, with Michael Jarrell. He gained, under the direction of Horacio Vaggione, a DEA in the science and technology of the arts at the University of Paris VIII.

A pianist by training, Francesca Verunelli studied composition at the Florence Conservatory with Rosario Mirigliano, took advanced classes at the Accademia Santa Cecilia in Rome with Azio Corghi before completing her training with Ircam’s composition and computing course.

After his mathematical studies were interrupted during World War II, Michel Philippot entered the Paris Conservatory and studied composition with René Leibowitz (1946-1950).

Annette Schlünz studied composition at the Musikhochschule in Dresden (1983-1987) and at the University of Berlin (1988-1991). Often finding inspiration in literature and poetry, she develops material that is limited at first, and she renounces any outbursts of virtuosity. She works on time, on its dilatation and contraction in a sound continuum, yet also on the modes of instrumental and vocal play, finding unusual ways of applying sounds, and tone-colours seemingly unrelated to the instrument in question.

She completed her training at Ircam (cursus of composition and computer music) and at the music academies of Royaumont, Acanthes and Gaudeamus (Amsterdam).

A self-taught composer, his aspirations reassured by a meeting with Pascal Dusapin, Igor Ballereau followed classes in harmony and counterpoint at, respectively, the Conservatory of the 10th arrondissement of Paris and the École Nationale de Musique ‘Alfred Cortot’.
Putting this experience to good use, he took part in a workshop at the Centre Acanthes (1994) as well as in important projects as musical assistant and assistant conductor (To be sung by Pascal Dusapin; Jacob Lenz by Wolfgang Rihm; Kassandra by Michael Jarrell).
