Encounter with Simon Steen-Andersen

Cdmc
Tuesday 14 January 2014 - 18:00

Moderation Michèle Tosi

The Danish composer Simon Steen-Andersen (1976), as a composer, performer and sound artist, has forged a triple identity that can be seen in its relationship to music. This trinity is a rule changer. Though earlier examples of mixity can be found with John Cage (1912-1992) in his relationship with the choreographer Merce Cunningham (1909-2009) and his events, with the Fluxus movement as the dynamo of the class of Wolfgang Fortner (1907-1987), with the video art of Nam June Paik (1932-2006), music theatre is also a stage in the development of a more performance-based art.

It is the emergent constellation of an art in action that will be examined during this encounter with Simon Steen-Andersen.

With the participation of Martin Kaltenecker, Simon Steen-Andersen, Niels Rosing-Schow, Michèle Tosi.
