Elzbieta Sikora, born in 1943 and resident in France since 1981, has found distinction in all musical genres. On the occasion of her 70th birthday, we shall consider, in her presence, two contemporary facets of her creative activity, both of which she particularly cultivates and that show the open-mindedness of her musical approach.

In her output, opera, to which she has once more recently turned to with Madame Curie (first performance in November 2011 at the Maison de l'Unesco, Paris), has been the focus for explicit lyricism and for a dramaturgical development otherwise latent in most of her works, including those with the voice.

Acousmatic music, an area in which she has been active since the early 1970s, has been the occasion for her to broaden her sound palette and to devise narrative forms that trace their origin to the Hörspiel. Even in her works on fixed media she maintains a close contact with instrumental sound, a feature that, within her output, has the effect of blurring the boundary between electro-acoustic and mixed works.

With the participation of Hélène Pierrakos, Elzbieta Sikora, Christian Zanesi.
