The Cdmc holds a unique collection representing all aesthetics within musical creation. This collection has grown thanks to the collaboration of composers, publishers and Radio France. With a consultation area open to the public, the centre also affords access to many online resources through the Catalogue and the Gateway to Contemporary Music. A beacon of the latest music news with its website, the Cdmc organises encounters with the movers and shakers of contemporary music.

The Mechanics of Breath – Call for composers
Hertzbreakerz, in collaboration with Ars Nova Society, is seeking two composers to be invited to write a new piece and to come to Malmö for the rehearsal sessions and the first concert within the frame of the project “Mechanics of breath” (preliminary dates, to be confirmed: March 10th-14th, workshop and first concert). The selected composers will write for the Zöllner/Roche duo (clarinet and accordion, more info at https://www.zoellner-roche.com/), with optional electronics.
In order to attend the rehearsals and the premiere (Malmö, Inter Arts Center), selected composers’ living expenses and accommodation (4 nights) will be covered by Hertzbreakerz/Ars Nova Society as well as travel to Malmö. Four more concerts in other Swedish cities will follow, (expenses for attending these concerts is not provided).
The call is open to composers of any nationality, with no restrictions whatsoever.
In order to be taken into consideration for this project, each applicant should submit no more than two chamber music compositions representative of his/her/their artistry. One composition should be written for maximum 7 instruments, and one for maximum 2 instruments (in case you decide to submit only one piece please send one with max. 2 instruments). The submitted works can be either with or without electronics.
